Reading Time: 3 minutes

Recently the budget airline Wizz Air was publishing their All you can fly program, with a limit of 10.000 tickets and I was purchasing it quickly after the release. Of course it sounds perfect at the first look at it, but how is it in reality? Is the Wizz Air all you can fly ticket worth it? Let’s do a quick review!

What is the all you can fly ticket?

The all you can fly ticket is a ticket for one year. During the promotion time it was being sold for 499 Euros and is valid for one year. After the promotion time it raised the price to 599 Euros and is also valid for one year.
Sadly all you can fly is not fully as you imagine, each flight you book, you will pay a fee for it. In the countries with Euros it is 9,99 Euro, in other currencies it is around the same amount.

What are the negative parts of the wizz air all you can fly ticket?

Sadly there are more negative parts for the ticket, than positive parts.
The most worth mentioned ones are:

  • You can only book a flight starting three days before takeoff, this means you can’t really plan your upcoming trips, or need to hope that you get lucky.
  • When you are not able to take the flight twice and have two no shows, Wizz Air will be canceling your subscription!
  • The All you can fly tickets are not the tickets, which are in general still available for the total plane. That means, that Wizz Air is deciding how many tickets will be for the all you can fly people. Even when the flight still has space, they can choose it,if you will have a chance of flying.
  • You can’t book roundtrips, so only each way for itself.
  • Hand Luggage only, when you are a person who wants to have luggage, you need to pay extra.
  • Wizz Air can change the terms for the program, whenever they want and you need to be okay with it.
  • If you don’t cancel the plan right away, you will be paying for another year.
  • Due to the limitation, there are as today not all you can fly tickets available!

How am I using the all you can fly ticket?

I just started using it three weeks ago, and this time I booked five flights. My flights were to Poland, Finland, Germany and Norway.
For example my flight today to Germany will go to Dortmund instead of Hamburg, because they had no tickets available, even though the price would be the same on sale, but for the all you can fly program it is not the same.

It is so far often frustrating and stressful for me, needing to book a shared ride or a bus last minute and change my plan completely, this is due to work. If I could rely completely on the program, a weekend trip is just simply done, sadly it is not.

I will be trying it more, because I need to make it worth it. If taking 20 flights each flight will cost me 35 Euros, with 40 flights it will be 22,5 Euros and so on. So Far I am with 5 flights on 110 Euros, which would be a bad deal of course.

Overall is the all you can fly ticket worth it?

Basically you need to be flexible and want to fly more. It is important to be both of those. It is possible to find great flights, for example to Madeira for 10 Euros, or the same to Maldives. Even to countries in Central Asia it can bring you, which is great to explore new countries and regions.
In general it can give you many possibilities, but the bad parts of this deal are huge and make this ticket not as amazing as you would think by hearing the name of the ticket.

In the end Wizz Air is a cheap airline, who is not making money by charity, they make money by making you pay for extras and wanting you to book a normal flight, because you can’t make it back home.

I can recommend the ticket, for people who travel a lot and like to be spontaneous and also travel with light weight. Just a little backpack and let’s go. To all others, I believe you are better off booking flights as normal, because then this ticket is just a waste of money, which is sad. When you are lucky you can save some money on destinations, to which you probably wouldn’t have traveled anyway.

Ask yourself if you would consider it worth it!

I will keep trying out my ticket and need to look at the end of the plan, if it was really worth the money, so soon there will be a new review on this particular ticket. In the meantime you will be reading about it in my upcoming personal blogs, which are now often in combination with the places I travel with the ticket, so stay tuned!
