In this article, I will talk about Travel Essentials, but will not cover specifics like clothing or backpack types, as those are depending on your travel style and destination. Instead, I’ll focus on items you should always have with you, regardless of your travel plans. I don’t profit from these recommendations or the provided links; this list features products I personally use.

Air Mattress

An air mattress isn’t just for camping; it’s a lifesaver during layovers or airport stays. I highly recommend investing in a quality air mattress, I choose this air mattress, it’s quite pricey though. You can be spending from around 35 Euros or more to ensure better durability and sleep comfort. Don’t forget a bit of second glue for any unexpected holes!

Water Filter

Traveling outside the EU means constantly buying bottled water to avoid getting sick. I trust  this company‘s water filter, but there are so many companies out there—it might be a bit pricey initially but saves a ton on water expenses. Keep it secure; I’ve learned the hard way after losing it a couple of times!

Tight Travel Bum Bag

Since traveling to South Sudan, I always keep a secure bum bag attached discreetly with my essentials. Concealing it adds an extra layer of security for crucial documents and cards.

Little First Aid Kit

A compact first aid kit can be a game-changer during your travels. It’s lightweight, affordable, and incredibly handy when you need it.

Power Bank

A power bank has been a savior in tight spots when my phone battery runs low. It can be very helpful whenever you need to search for something or call someone.

Travel Adapter

Consider a universal adapter for hassle-free charging across different continents. It’s a small expense and very convenient, when traveling all over the globe.

Second Phone

After my phone got stolen, I always carry a backup. It’s not just for safety; it’s a convenient way to separate tasks like photography and communication.

Passport Pictures

Passport pictures are increasingly essential during travels. Carrying a few spares has saved the day more than once for me.

Organic Multipurpose Soap

This organic soap is a travel essential for me! It’s compact, multi-functional, and a true lifesaver for showering and laundry. Always keep it handy in your bag, also no problem with hand luggage!

Other Useful Items (not always carried)
