Probably the last thing, which you would expect in Syria is an underground night club! I will tell you a little story, how that happened.
Storytelling
While visiting Aleppo, the biggest city in the north of Syria, I went out for a beer, with a guy from Hungary. We were talking while doing that with locals and sharing a beer with them.
It was a fun night, where we were able to get to know locals as well, which is normally not that easy, when needing to do a tour.
While both of us were slowly motivated to go back to the hotel and to call it a night, doing the tour was rough, so we were really exhausted.
One of the guys wanted us to follow him, so we did. At the end, we were going into a building and then the stairs down, until a big metal door, there a guy from Russia was letting us in.
We made it into a nightclub, but we didn’t know it then.
The nightclub in Syria
The owner was from Russia and made us an offer, for I think $15 for an all you can drink party. There would be strippers too, and when interested also able to have Sex, when asking them for a price.
The woman would have been from Syria and Russia, but the show was starting three hours later, so we went back to the hotel.
In the hotel and on the way we were discussing if we should go, or not.
In the end, we didn’t go, it was just such a random thing, what we didn’t expect to happen in Syria.
An underground nightclub in Syria exists and it is not hard to find. In our case, we had contacts, but it was not even far away from the main square. It felt illegal, but actually we didn’t know and don’t know it even now.
